20.1.21 Day 3: Fasting and Praying

Moses prayed for the people: “Now therefore, may the Lord show his power, as you have spoken: The Lord is slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forgives iniquity and transgression. He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation. Please forgive the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your kindness, as you have forgiven them from Egypt until now.”
“I have pardoned them, just as you promised,” the Lord said. “But as I live, the whole earth will be filled with my glory.” “These people, who have seen my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tested me these ten times and have not obeyed my voice, will never see the land that I swore to their ancestors to give them, not even one of those who despised me. Only my servant Caleb, because he had a different spirit and fully followed me, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. (Numbers 14:17-24)
Brothers and sisters, we can pray to God for His mercy according to His abundant mercy, but we also need to know that He is a righteous Lord who will not clear the guilty. The manifestation of God’s righteousness is also the manifestation of His glory. We see that the rebellious Israelites were not allowed to enter the beautiful land of Canaan promised by God.
May we be alert to sin, be sober-minded and alert in prayer in these last days, and follow the Lord wholeheartedly like Caleb.
